Wendy Everett is a museum hung artist of international acclaim. Her 'Polo Triptych' for example which measures 11' x 5', is in the permanent collection in the Polo Museum in Palm Beach. Wendy's clients include Paul Newman, Steven Spielberg, a London Sheik and even a Princess. She is noted for using gold leaf, silver leaf and diamonds in her work—not surprising since her favorite artist is Gustav Klimt, whose ‘Woman in Gold’ sold to Ronald Lauder for 135 million dollars.
Le Galleriste is the perfect marriage of Wendy’s two careers, since she began her creative life in New York City designing for the Big Three pattern companies: Vogue/Butterick, McCall’s and Simplicity. Her first foray into applying her own art to fabric occurred when Paul Newman asked her to make a silk polo scarf to be auctioned off at his ‘Hole in the Wall Gang’ Polo Gala at Greenwich Polo Club. He liked it so much that both he and Joanne Woodward signed it!
“I’m delighted that Le Galleriste approached me to decorate their fashion line with my artwork,” Wendy says, “When I create a painting I want it to exude joy and beauty, and that’s exactly what a woman hopes to exude when she wears a new outfit. I actually can’t wait to wear these pieces myself!!” she added with a laugh.
