I am a multi-disciplinary artist with 25 years of painting experience. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Dance and my visual art education is speckled with a few technical courses in drawing and oil painting plus several years working in art supply retail. I have developed my painterly voice through experimentation and deliberation in making mistakes and working on top of what has not gone very well.
My paintings are typically densely layered with acrylic paint, paper collage and other media, creating dynamic surfaces, rich with texture and saturated colors.
I love to create multi-layered productions that combine my paintings as physical backgrounds to live dance choreography on stage, costumed in my wearable art designs.
