Helma Swinkels is the artist behind the name BiBi J. She was born in The Netherlands and had a career covering multiple countries in Europe before she immigrated to Canada in 2006. Helma's creativity comes in many forms, mainly making something out of nothing. During most of her life Helma used her creativity for her work, she created her own jobs. As a new Canadian she invented and operated two social enterprises and used them as fundraisers for quality of life services. When she retired Helma became a painter. She paints mainly atmospheric land and seascapes, but also abstracts and bold pour paintings. Helma loves to emerge herself in her work. Painting allows her to empty her mind, live in the moment while creativity flows freely. She loves to share her artwork using unique fashion to make you feel pretty and special. All profits from the sales on her online store will be donated to charities in the Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island.
