Multidisciplinary artist, Elise Bonato, is a 'practitioner of the visual-aural arcane' based on Kaurna land in Adelaide, Australia. Her predominantly experimental practice investigates contemporary notions and versions of the sublime and mysticism, through a synthesis of moving image, performance, installation, drawing and painting. She has exhibited and performed locally in Australia (SEVENTH Gallery, Sawtooth ARI, FELTspace), as well as internationally in the United States and Singapore. In recent years her practice has been energised by taking part in art residencies around Australia; BCSC— (VIC), King’s Bridge / Cataract Gorge (TAS), Adelaide City Library, Adelaide Festival Centre (SA); and overseas (NARS Foundation in NYC, USA).
